Saudi arabia: Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Chief Executive Sultan Al-Marshad met today with Syrian Minister of Finance Mohammed Yusr Barniyeh, Minister of Health Dr. Musab Al-Ali, and Minister of Education Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman Turko, with Saudi Ambassador to Syria Dr. Faisal Al-Mujfal also in attendance. The meetings aimed to explore opportunities for development cooperation in various sectors within Syria.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions focused on leveraging the SFD's extensive experience in development activities, which have spanned over 50 years globally. The visit highlights the importance of collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Syria in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and supporting developmental initiatives within Syria.
Since its inception in 1974, the SFD has extended development aid to over 100 developing countries, backing more than 800 projects and programs in different sectors. These efforts have amounted to a total value exceeding $22 billion, fostering sustainable development and boosting economic and social growth in the recipient nations.
