Riyadh: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) organized a panel session titled 'From Challenges to Opportunities: Innovative Financing for Development in Yemen,' held within the Development Finance Conference MOMENTUM 2025 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the session explored development financing priorities, current funding gaps, the readiness of development projects, and discussed governance mechanisms for innovative financing to maximize impact and ensure sustainability. It also highlighted the efforts of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, which serves as a leading institutional model contributing to bridging financing gaps across vital sectors through sustainable development projects and initiatives directly linked to improving the lives of local communities.
SDRPY Assistant Supervisor-General Eng. Hassan Al-Attas outlined the requirements of the current phase, stressing the importance of strengthening innovative financing mechanisms and building multilateral partnerships in support of economic recovery, and enabling the transition toward sustainable development financing in cooperation with United Nations agencies, international and regional organizations, donors, and the private sector. These efforts aim to generate long-term impacts that enhance essential services and stimulate economic growth in Yemen.
The panel underscored the importance of collaborative action and reinforced cooperation in support of sustainable development pathways, advancing a more resilient and inclusive development model that contributes to improving the quality of basic services, creating job opportunities, and strengthening community resilience toward a better future.
