Jeddah: Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) President Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi on Wednesday checked operations of the electronic gates at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. The e-gates were launched by the General Directorate of Passports in collaboration with SDAIA and the Matarat Holding Company, aiming to facilitate the travel of passengers through the airport.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during his visit, Alghamdi was briefed on all efforts made by SDAIA to serve worshippers and Umrah pilgrims during their arrival and departure from the Kingdom. These continuous efforts included the development and operation of the e-gate systems as well as their integration with border control, biometric data, airlines, and visa systems.
He emphasized the importance of utilizing smart technologies to enhance efficiency and improve the travel experience for passengers.
