SDAIA Launches Personal Data Protection Track Registration in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh:The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has announced the opening of registration for the Personal Data Protection Track within the Data Regulatory Sandbox. This initiative aims to enable compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law and its Implementing Regulations through the National Data Governance Platform. The registration period will remain open for two months.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the track is designed for private entities with innovative products or services that process personal data. It allows these entities to test their products or services under regulatory supervision, ensuring alignment with the Personal Data Protection Law and its Implementing Regulations. This effort is intended to safeguard data subjects' rights and encourage responsible practices in the collection, processing, and use of personal data from the early development stages of products and services.

Eligible applicants must be licensed private entities operating within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with products or services that involve personal data processing. Additionally, they must be registered in the National Personal Data Protection Register on the National Data Governance Platform.

SDAIA urges eligible entities to take advantage of the registration period and submit their applications through the National Data Governance Platform.
