Paris: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) showcased its efforts in developing national capacity-building strategies in data and artificial intelligence at the UNESCO Conference on Capacity-Building in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation in the Public Sector. The event was held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris and focused on designing advanced training programs aimed at enhancing public sector employee skills and preparing national cadres for digital transformation in Saudi Arabia.
According to Saudi Press Agency, SDAIA participated in a discussion session titled "Developing National Strategies for Digital Capacity Building," attended by international experts and representatives from government agencies and international organizations. Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, CEO of the Capacity Building Sector at SDAIA, highlighted that the initiatives launched by SDAIA align with the objectives of the Human Capacity Development Program, a part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. These initiatives contribute to developing national skills and empowering competencies in technical and digital fields.
Dr. Al-Ghamdi noted that SDAIA's efforts align with UNESCO's priorities in capacity building, which focus on strengthening institutional and individual capacities, bridging the digital divide, and supporting vocational training in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.
The session also explored ways to motivate public sector employees to enhance their digital skills by linking vocational training programs to career advancement and aligning national strategies with institutional incentives. Prominent international practices and experiences in this domain were also reviewed.
This participation is part of SDAIA's broader efforts to bolster Saudi Arabia's presence in international forums related to data and artificial intelligence. It underscores the Kingdom's commitment to empowering national capacities and supporting the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
