Madinah: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) continues its efforts at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah by equipping 20 electronic gates (e-gates) and providing 24/7 technical and operational support to facilitate arrival procedures for pilgrims visiting the Prophet's Mosque ahead of the 1446 AH Hajj season. The initiative is being implemented in coordination with relevant government entities involved in Hajj operations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, SDAIA's technical teams have also installed 30 electronic passport readers at workstations, in coordination with the General Directorate of Passports, to ensure the speed and efficiency of entry procedures. Additionally, high-availability testing was conducted on both primary and backup network circuits to verify readiness ahead of the season. This reflects the strength of the technical infrastructure and the rapid integration of digital systems developed under SDAIA's supervision at the Kingdom's air entry points.
These efforts are part of SDAIA's broader role in preparing 15 air, sea, and land ports across various regions of the Kingdom to receive pilgrims. The initiative includes providing a fully integrated technical infrastructure to streamline the arrival process for travelers-especially pilgrims and Umrah performers-and to enhance their experience from the moment they arrive until their entry into the Kingdom.
