Madinah: A total of 530 male and female scouts, including scout leaders, are taking part in the Ramadan public service camp in Madinah, helping to manage the crowds of worshippers and visitors around the Prophet's Mosque. The scouts actively help manage both traffic and pedestrian movement, particularly at the mosque's main entrances and exits, which are heavily congested during prayer times. Working alongside traffic police, scouts facilitate the smooth flow of worshippers entering and leaving the mosque, contributing to a safer, more organized environment for visitors. According to Saudi Press Agency, participants in the service camp are deployed across several locations in Madinah, including the courtyards of the Prophet's Mosque, central health centers, Quba Mosque, and Al-Miqat Mosque. Their responsibilities include providing a range of humanitarian and organizational services, particularly pushing wheelchairs, organizing worshippers, managing crowds, and assisting visitors at health centers. They also supervise entry and exit at gates and stairways, guide lost individuals, care for children, assist elderly visitors, and help organize visits to the Rawdah. These efforts reflect the longstanding role of scouting in Saudi Arabia in promoting volunteerism and community service. The camp serves as a practical platform for instilling the values of generosity and national pride among young people, while enabling them to actively serve worshippers through well-trained teams working in a spirit of cooperation. The camp seeks to support visitors and worshippers while assisting relevant authorities in enhancing services at the Prophet's Mosque. It also encourages youth participation in volunteer work and highlights the positive role of Saudi youth in humanitarian service, reinforcing the Kingdom's commitment to caring for visitors to the two holy mosques and providing them with the best possible services.
