President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ordered on Monday March 9,2020 the expansion of technological universities across the nation, which he said provide the labor market with highly-skilled graduates.
The president gave his remarks during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
The meeting tackled means to develop the sector of higher education and scientific research in Egypt, as well as the establishment of governmental, international and technological universities, Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady said.
The president ordered developing the information infrastructure and using the latest equipment at Egyptian universities to improve their academic performance.
Abdel Ghaffar reviewed steps taken to establish new universities in cooperation with international universities.
He also spoke about a plan to set up a national academy for brilliant and talented people to prepare a new generation of highly-skilled youth in different fields.
Abdel Ghaffar also reviewed preparations for the new academic year at a number of international universities, as well as the progress in the educational process at technological universities, which started activities this academic year 2019/2020 in New Cairo, Beni Suef and Monufia.
