PM: Cairo book fair became major event in region

The Cairo International Book Fair has become a major cultural event in the region, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Wednesday 22/1/2020.

Madblouli made his remarks after opening the 51st edition of Cairo International Book Fair 2020 at Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) in the 5th Settlement district in Cairo with Senegal as the guest of honor this year.

He was accompanied by Minister of Culture Enas Abdel Dayyem.

Madbouli applauded the high quality of the event’s organization and the widespread participation of exhibitors and publishing houses from Arab as well as African countries.

The premier toured the pavilions of the General Egyptian Book Organization, the Grand Authority for Cultural Palaces as well as the defense and interior ministries.

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal, Presidential Adviser Hani Azer, the Senegalese minister of culture and the ambassador of Senegal in Cairo witnessed the opening ceremony along with a host of diplomats, intellectuals and media personalities.

Themed: Egypt-Africa, A Culture of Diversity, the event is scheduled to wrap on February 4.
