Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli decided on Tuesday 10/3/2020 to suspend classes at all schools and universities nationwide on Thursday because of expected bad weather.
Madbouli received a report from the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) that the country is going to witness unstable and bad weather beginning from Thursday until Saturday, the Cabinet’s Spokesman Nader Saad said.
The premier’s decision comes within the framework of allowing all the state bodies to respond appropriately and immediately deal with the repercussions of bad weather conditions.
EMA’s report noted that heavy rains are expected to hit coastal cities and Lower Egypt. Thunderous rains, possibly reaching flood levels, are expected in Sinai, Gulf of Suez cities and Upper Egypt.
EMA also pointed out to strong winds that raise dust and sand across the country.
The report called on citizens to be cautious during this weather.
