The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has been ranked second in Forbes list of the ten Biggest Logistics Companies in MENA for 2021.
In a statement on Tuesday 12/10/2021, the SCA chief, Osama Rabie, said that such selection crowns the authority’s efforts and success in overcoming many challenges and crises throughout a year, topped by the coronavirus pandemic and the grounding of the giant Ever Given container ship.
When compiling this ranking, Forbes said it considered the size of SCA in terms of assets, revenues, and market value and percentage of trade enabled by the company, and therefore its importance to the economy in addition to the quantity of goods transported or stored, Rabie explained.
A leap witnessed by the Suez Canal Authority and its projects over the past few years could never be made without President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s constant support and keenness to follow up on developments in projects aimed to upgrade the international waterway and other development and service projects that are being implemented by SCA, he added.
