Madinah: The Sayed Al-Shuhada Mosque, located approximately three kilometers north of the Prophet's Mosque, is a significant historical site near Mount Uhud and the Uhud Martyrs' Cemetery. This mosque holds a vital place in Islamic history as it is situated on the site associated with the Battle of Uhud, which occurred in the third year of the Hijra.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the mosque underwent renovation in Rajab 1438 AH, adopting a modern architectural style. Spanning an area of approximately 54,000 square meters, it can accommodate around 15,000 worshippers. The mosque's courtyards and facilities are fully equipped with services to support visitors and frequent worshippers.
The Sayed Al-Shuhada Mosque is positioned opposite Mount Al-Rumah (Jabal Al-Rumah), a small hill located west of Mount Uhud. It is recognized as one of the prominent landmarks related to the Prophet's life, attracting numerous visitors to Madinah.
