Riyadh: Saudi weightlifter Abdullah Al-Qaisoom won the silver medal yesterday in the 110 kg category at the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship, held in Kazakhstan. The championship features over 199 athletes from 23 countries. According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia's second medal in the tournament was celebrated by the President of the Saudi Weightlifting Federation and the General Secretary of the Asian Weightlifting Federation, Mohammed Alharbi. He credited the early preparation as a key factor in the Saudi team's success and highlighted the strong popularity of weightlifting across Asia. Alharbi reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to supporting a new generation of athletes in international competitions to grow its continental and global accomplishments.
