Riyadh: The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) has released its inaugural 2024 sustainability report, outlining key efforts and initiatives to embed sustainability across its operations and highlighting the water sector's pivotal role in delivering innovative, reliable solutions that conserve natural resources and advance sustainable development throughout the Kingdom.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the report reflects SWA's commitment to enhancing transparency and advancing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sustainability practices, while also underscoring its dedication to fulfilling supervisory and regulatory responsibilities in line with the highest local and international standards and best practices.
It also documents a full year of programs and initiatives that have contributed to community service, supported the national economy, and advanced progress toward the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It adheres to the highest standards of corporate disclosure, including frameworks set by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), reinforcing SWA's commitment to accountability and sustainable impact.
The report highlights 19 key topics related to the water sector's operations, covering areas such as digital transformation, empowerment of national talent, development of policies and regulations, strengthening of stakeholder partnerships, and promotion of innovation.
