Saudi-Turkish Coordination Council Committee Discusses Culture and Tourism Initiatives

RIYADH: The Saudi-Turkish Coordination Council's Committee on Culture, Sports, Media, and Tourism held a virtual meeting chaired by Saudi Assistant Minister of Culture Rakan bin Ibrahim Al-Touq and Turkish Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan.

According to Saudi Press Agency, participants in the meeting reviewed cultural initiatives that included exchanges in music, fashion, handicrafts, and theater. The discussions aimed at fortifying cultural ties and fostering mutual understanding through shared cultural experiences.

The committee also focused on sports programs designed to share expertise and advance the sector in both Saudi Arabia and Turkey. This initiative seeks to enhance cooperation in sports management and development, benefiting athletes and sports enthusiasts in both countries.

In terms of media cooperation, the committee addressed the importance of capacity-building in television and digital media. They emphasized the need to boost collaboration among media institutions, which would facilitate the exchange of knowledge and improve media practices.

The tourism sector was another key focus, with discussions on encouraging private-sector partnerships to support development. Both sides explored increasing official and stakeholder visits as a means to identify opportunities that could help attract more tourists, ultimately benefiting the economies of both nations.
