Dubai: Mahd Sports Academy swimmer Zaid Al-Saraaj set a new Saudi record in the 50-meter freestyle at the Dubai Open Swimming Championship, which concluded today. He clocked 23.02 seconds in the finals, surpassing the previous record of 23.35 seconds set by Youssef Bouarish.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the 17-year-old standout had already impressed in the preliminaries, recording 22.23 seconds, marking a major milestone for Saudi swimming. His achievement underscores the sport's rapid progress and highlights Mahd Academy's pivotal role in developing future champions ready to compete at the continental and international levels.
