Saudi Reef Celebrates Growth in Coffee Sector Amid International Coffee Day

Riyadh: Coinciding with International Coffee Day on October 1, the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Saudi Reef) continues to strengthen the Kingdom's coffee sector by providing direct support to small Saudi farmers and producers.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Reef spokesman Majed Al-Buraikan highlighted the program's ongoing efforts to develop targeted sectors, including coffee, by adopting innovative technologies and practices to boost productivity and sustainability.

Support for beneficiaries in the coffee sector has exceeded SAR146.3 million, benefiting over 4,460 individuals. Total coffee production in the Kingdom has surpassed 500,000 tons, with approximately 2.2 million seedlings cultivated.

Al-Buraikan emphasized that the coffee industry in the Kingdom is experiencing significant growth and increased investment, enhancing its contribution to the national economy and reinforcing the Kingdom's leadership in coffee cultivation and production.

The coffee sector is one of the eight key sectors supported by Saudi Reef, which aims to increase production, enhance food security, and boost the income of farmers and producers.
