Saudi Red Crescent Saves Umrah Pilgrim at Prophet’s Mosque

Madinah:The Saudi Red Crescent Authority teams in the Madinah Region successfully revived a 74-year-old Pakistani Umrah pilgrim who experienced sudden cardiac and respiratory arrest at the Prophet's Mosque during Friday prayers. The teams reached the pilgrim in just 14 seconds.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Zahrani, Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Madinah Region, stated that the emergency teams immediately initiated emergency protocols and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). They were able to restore the pilgrim's pulse and stabilize his condition before transferring him to Bab Jebreel Health Center for further medical care.

Dr. Al-Zahrani highlighted that the extensive deployment of emergency personnel throughout the mosque, as part of the Friday prayer readiness plan, is crucial for ensuring swift responses to emergencies. This strategy significantly reduces response times and increases survival chances in crowded areas.
