Makkah: The Makkah Region branch of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority handled 15,150 emergency reports during the first ten days of Ramadan, as part of its approved operational plan to serve Umrah performers, visitors, and residents through an integrated emergency system operating around the clock to enhance response speed and raise readiness levels.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the branch explained that emergency teams managed critical cases through command and control centers, activating specialized medical pathways to ensure the provision of urgent care in line with the highest medical standards. Cardiac catheterization pathway cases reached 29, while stroke pathway cases totaled 39. In terms of emergency support, 13 cases were transferred via air ambulance to specialized healthcare facilities, contributing to faster access to critical care for severe cases.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Makkah Region affirmed its continued operational readiness and strengthened coordination with response partners and relevant entities to ensure the delivery of rapid and effective emergency services, reflecting its commitment to mobilizing all capabilities to safeguard lives and protect public safety.
