Saudi Red Crescent Enhances Emergency Response Capabilities for Umrah Season

Makkah: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) in Makkah Region has intensified its operational plan for the 1447 AH Umrah season, deploying over 1,400 qualified personnel and a fleet of 160 ambulances to ensure the safety of pilgrims.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this year's plan features the launch of 40 electric ambulance chairs designed to navigate crowded areas within the Grand Mosque where traditional vehicles cannot reach. These units function as miniature field ambulances, providing immediate medical assessment and speeding up the transport of emergency cases.

The comprehensive strategy integrates 34 rapid intervention teams, 23 motorcycles, 55 scooters, and 38 golf carts to maximize field deployment efficiency across the Grand Mosque, its courtyards, and major access roads. Specialized emergency care units have also been established in high-traffic zones to provide immediate first aid and reduce pressure on mobile teams. By utilizing precise performance indicators and advanced medical equipment, SRCA ensures rapid response times and high-quality care for pilgrims throughout the holy month.
