Riyadh: In preparation for the Hajj season 1446 AH, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has elevated its operational preparedness and augmented its field operations, technical capabilities, and human resources to ensure pilgrims can perform their rituals safely, healthily, and peacefully.
According to Saudi Press Agency, for this year's Hajj, SRCA's extensive resources include 7,517 qualified paramedics, 212 medical transport personnel (specialists, dispatchers, operators, and supervisors), 633 administrative and logistical support professionals, and 56 doctors providing advanced medical care. Nine ambulance helicopters, collaborating with health and security entities, will expedite access and transfer of critical cases from the holy sites and high-density zones.
Furthermore, the authority announced the deployment of its ambulance fleet to serve pilgrims. This includes 578 equipped ambulances, 80 specialized response vehicles, nine ambulance buses for mass transportation of cases, and 205 golf carts for narrow areas. Additionally, 500 electric mobility aids, such as carts and wheelchairs for the elderly and those with disabilities, are available.
