Saudi Railways Gears Up to Facilitate Pilgrims for 1446 AH Hajj Season

Riyadh: Saudi Railways, through its Al-Mashaer Train and Haramain High-Speed Railway, is actively preparing comprehensive transportation plans to efficiently serve pilgrims during the 1446 AH Hajj season. The advanced rail systems are designed to ensure a smooth flow of passengers and maintain high operational efficiency throughout the pilgrimage.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Mashaer Train is set to transport over two million pilgrims between the holy sites of Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat. Seventeen fully equipped trains will operate along the 18-kilometer track, linking nine stations. The system boasts a capacity of 72,000 passengers per hour in each direction and operates at a speed of 80 km/h, allowing the journey between Mina and Arafat to take approximately 20 minutes. More than 2,000 trips will be executed during the season, managed by over 7,500 qualified Saudi employees.

In addition, the Haramain High-Speed Railway plans to conduct around 4,700 trips, providing over two million seats, which represents an increase of more than 400,000 seats from the previous season.
