General

Riyadh: The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced a new shipping service, GS2/KMP, in partnership with the Premier Alliance of shipping lines HMM, ONE, and Yang Ming. The service will connect King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam and Jubail Commercial Port with 18 international ports.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the new route links Saudi ports with major hubs across Asia and the US, including Singapore, Shanghai, Busan, Long Beach, and Oakland. This addition, capable of handling up to 16,000 TEUs, is a significant step in strengthening Saudi Arabia's position as a key maritime trade hub.

This move aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to elevate the Kingdom's global logistics standing and improve the efficiency of its port operations.
