Diriyah: The ‘Souq Al-Mawsim’ (Season Market), a prominent feature of Diriyah Season 25-26, continues to draw visitors since its inauguration on November 9 in the historic Al-Tawalie district. This district is a significant site linked to Diriyah’s history and its longstanding commercial and cultural influence.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this year’s Souq Al-Mawsim marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Japan. The event showcases cultural exchange by integrating the Japanese culture of Kyoto with Saudi traditions. Visitors can witness a unique blend of heritage and innovation, exemplified by the display of katana swords alongside Saudi bishts. These bishts are crafted from premium Japanese fabrics, symbolizing the deep cultural connections between the two nations.
The Souq Al-Mawsim is a component of the Diriyah Season 25-26, organized by the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA). The event aims to position Diriyah as a global cultural center and an extraordinary urban destination. It aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, focusing on the development of the cultural and tourism sectors while enhancing their contribution to sustainable national development.
