Kuala lumpur: The Saudi Irrigation Organization participated in the Fourth World Irrigation Forum (WIF4) and the 76th meeting of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage in Kuala Lumpur.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the participation featured presentations on advancements in water resource management and irrigation practices in Saudi Arabia, highlighting initiatives such as agricultural wastewater treatment and the reuse of treated water. Key sessions included discussions on balancing water scarcity with growing demand, as well as the importance of data and partnerships for achieving sustainable water security.
Notable papers presented at WIF4 focused on a smart tool for irrigation scheduling in dry areas and a framework for improving water efficiency in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
