Medina: The Saudi Health Council issued the diabetes awareness guide during Ramadan, Hajj and Umrah for diabetic patients, providing reliable information and guidance to help diabetic patients manage their condition during fasting and worship, reduce health complications, and raise the quality of health services, in line with the Health Sector Transformation Program and Saudi Vision 2030. According to Saudi Press Agency, the guide aims to educate diabetic patients and their families on key medical and preventive guidelines related to fasting and performing Hajj and Umrah rituals, including managing dietary changes, physical exertion, and environmental conditions, and taking precautionary measures to minimize the risks of blood sugar fluctuations and sudden complications. The guide also helps diabetic patients manage their condition more effectively during rituals through guidance on monitoring blood sugar levels, early recognition of high or low blood sugar symptoms, and healthy behaviors related to nutrit ion and physical activity.
