Washington: The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS), during the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum organized by the Ministry of Investment, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) to enhance collaboration in the geological field. The agreement was signed in the presence of Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef and Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU was signed by SGS CEO Eng. Abdullah Al-Shamrani and SEG President Joseph Reilly. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between both organizations in the geological sector, focusing on the exchange of scientific and technical expertise and the enhancement of geological technical capabilities.
SGS Spokesperson Tariq bin Ali Aba Al-Khail highlighted that the memorandum encompasses collaboration in geophysical studies and research, data management technologies, and the exploration of mineral resources. It also covers mineral processing, mining support services, and technology transfer.
He further explained that the MoU includes cooperation in mining industry support services, geophysics, geochemistry, and remote sensing applications in geological sciences. Additionally, it seeks to foster international cooperation with scientists and specialists in the geological sector.
