Jeddah:The Jeddah Flagpole stands out as a prominent landmark during the Saudi National Day celebrations, held under the theme 'Our Pride Lies in Our Nature.' This event adds a distinctive national character to the festivities, reflecting pride in the country's national identity and the significance of the occasion.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi flag flying atop the flagpole symbolizes the Kingdom and its achievements, fostering sentiments of national unity, love, and loyalty. It strengthens citizens' connection to their homeland and their pride in the Kingdom's accomplishments across various fields.
The flagpole, standing 172 meters high, features the Saudi flag and a representation of the Kingdom's official emblem, which includes two swords, each 75 meters long, and an 85-meter-tall palm tree. Situated within a 26,000-square-meter site, the flagpole weighs 500 tons and serves as a notable national, social, and historical landmark in central Jeddah.
