Riyadh: The Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) has announced its accession to the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) through the International Professional Engineers Agreement. This strategic step aims to reinforce the Kingdom's presence in global professional organizations and enhance international recognition of Saudi engineering competencies.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the IEA is one of the world's leading professional bodies, comprising organizations and institutions from various continents. It seeks to develop professional accreditation systems, improve the quality of engineering education, and facilitate mutual recognition of qualifications and expertise among its member countries.
SCE Secretary-General Eng. Abdul Mohsen Al-Majnouni emphasized that joining the IEA results from extensive efforts by the council to develop the Kingdom's engineering ecosystem and connect it with international accreditation and professional recognition bodies. He noted that this move will enable Saudi engineers to work in global markets according to the highest standards and strengthen their international standing.
This membership aligns with the Kingdom's broader strategy to engage with international professional systems. It supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to boost competitiveness, develop human capital, and enhance the quality of professional practice across sectors, particularly engineering.
