Doha: Saudi Arabia's national basketball team defeated Qatar 86-80 today in a postponed second-window game of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers, held at Al Gharafa Sports Club Hall in Doha. According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia led 46-35 at halftime and 68-59 after the third quarter before holding off a late Qatari comeback to secure the victory. The win moved Saudi Arabia into second place in the group standings behind Lebanon, ahead of Qatar in third and India in fourth, strengthening its hopes of advancing to the final qualifying stage for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027.
