Al-Khobar: The 8th International Congress of the Saudi Arabian Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (SASMBS), inaugurated on behalf of Eastern Region Governor Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz by Eastern Region Undersecretary Turki bin Abdullah Al-Tamimi, kicked off in Al-Khobar today.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the three-day conference will bring together specialists from Saudi Arabia and abroad to highlight the latest advancements in metabolic and bariatric surgery, including cutting-edge robotic technologies that enhance the precision and efficiency of obesity-related procedures.
Chairman of the SASMBS Board of Directors Dr. Aayed Alqahtani emphasized the significance of the event as a platform for Saudi doctors, healthcare practitioners, and medical students to receive hands-on training in robotic-assisted bariatric surgery. Notably, this marked the first time that robotic surgical training was incorporated into a medical congress.
