Saudi Arabia to Hold First Quran and Sunnah Competition in Mauritania

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has concluded preparations for the inaugural Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Competition for Memorizing the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet. Held in collaboration with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education of Mauritania, the competition will take place from October 15 to 19, 2024, in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. A total of 136 contestants from 16 countries will participate in the competition, which will be judged by a panel of 10 experts. The competition aims to foster a deeper connection between Muslims in the region and the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. It also seeks to highlight Saudi Arabia's commitment to preserving Islamic heritage and promoting cooperation among Islamic countries. The competition will feature a three-day qualifying round followed by a closing ceremony on October 19. The total prize money for the competition is SAR1,218,000. Source: Saudi Press Agency
