Saudi Arabia Strengthens Global Intellectual Property Framework with Key Accessions

Saudi arabia: Saudi Arabia has deposited its instruments of accession to the Riyadh Design Law Treaty and the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), on the sidelines of the meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of WIPO in Geneva.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the deposit ceremony was attended by Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property CEO Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Swailem and Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulmohsen Binkhothaila.

The move underscores the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening its intellectual property ecosystem, expanding services provided to beneficiaries, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy by enabling rights holders to benefit from international systems that facilitate the protection of trademarks and industrial designs at both the international and national levels.
