Riyadh: StartupBlink unveiled a new remarkable milestone for Saudi Arabia in innovation progress, with the nation experiencing the steepest climb in the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2025. In its Ecosystem Report 2025 released today, StartupBlink also presented its Country of the Year Award to the Kingdom.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the achievements reflect Saudi Arabia's advanced position on the global map of innovation and the digital economy, while acknowledging the comprehensive efforts led by the National Technology Development Program as well as various government and private entities within the Kingdom's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
On a global city scale, Riyadh reported the highest growth rate among the top 100 cities in innovation and entrepreneurship, securing the leading spot in nanotechnology and transportation technologies, and the second place in finance technologies.
The report highlighted Saudi Arabia's technological capabilities, with the Kingdom achieving global rankings in several sub-indicators: first in healthcare technologies; second in insurance and investment technologies, and logistics and delivery applications; third in digital payments; fifth in electronic gaming; and seventh in educational technologies.
The qualitative progress underscores the depth and diversity of the Saudi ecosystem, along with the increasing confidence of investors in the national economy. It serves as an additional impetus to expand innovation horizons and enhance investment opportunities, supporting the goals of Vision 2030 toward building a sustainable and entrepreneurial digital economy.
