Riyadh:The Saudi Competitiveness and Business Center's (SCBC) electronic platform, Istitlaa, has launched 40 projects focused on economic and development matters in collaboration with 25 government entities. This initiative enables stakeholders to provide feedback and proposals on these projects prior to their approval.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the projects include a proposal from the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) titled "Amendments to the Implementing Regulations of the Personal Data Protection Law." This project aims to clarify procedures and controls in the Implementing Regulations to facilitate compliance, protect personal data, and build trust in data-reliant services. The public can provide feedback on this project until November 5, 2026.
Additionally, the Board of Grievances has introduced the "Amendment to the Implementing Regulations of the Law of Procedure before the Board of Grievances." This project seeks to define procedures for judgments in minor cases issued by administrative courts, clarify the processes for correcting and interpreting these judgments, and enhance case hearing efficiency in the Board of Grievances courts. Feedback is similarly open until November 5, 2026.
The Saudi Electricity Regulatory Authority has proposed the "Renewable Energy for Self-Consumption Regulations" project. It aims to establish a regulatory framework for renewable energy systems used for self-consumption, improving procedures based on system capacity and grid impact, and focusing on hosting capacity and technical studies. Public feedback for this project is open until November 3, 2026.
The Istitlaa platform's introduction of these draft laws and regulations underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to transparency in the legislative environment, fostering a culture of public consultation, and engaging both the general public and private sector in shaping the business environment.
