Colombo: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has delivered a substantial gift of 50 tons of dates to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. This contribution is intended for distribution to Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan 1446 AH.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Khalid bin Hamoud Al-Qahtani, officially handed over the aid to Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, Sri Lanka's Minister of Religious Affairs. The ceremony took place at the Saudi Embassy in Colombo and was attended by several high-ranking officials.
Ambassador Al-Qahtani stated that the dates distribution program is under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. He underscored the initiative as a reflection of the Kingdom's humanitarian and cultural values and emphasized its commitment to strengthening ties with brotherly and friendly countries. KSrelief plays a vital role in supporting humanitarian efforts and promoting solidarity and charitable values.
In response, Minister Senevi expressed sincere appreciation for the Kingdom's assistance to Sri Lanka.
This gift of dates is part of Saudi Arabia's broader humanitarian initiatives, conducted through KSrelief, aimed at supporting allied nations in various fields.
