Sharm el-sheikh: The General Court of Audit (GCA) of Saudi Arabia will participate with an official delegation, led by President Dr. Hussam Alangari, in the 25th Session of the General Assembly of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). The meetings are scheduled from October 27 to 31 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Arab Republic of Egypt, attracting around 800 members and affiliates from over 195 countries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, GCA's involvement as Second Vice-Chair of INTOSAI underscores its active role in the organization's decision-making processes and extensive engagement in INTOSAI meetings. Prior to the General Assembly, GCA will participate in the 79th Meeting of the INTOSAI Governing Board, which is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the INTOSAI Strategic Plan and making key policy decisions.
The GCA will also take part in several main professional committees, plenary sessions of the technical symposium accompanying the General Assembly, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's booth at the exhibition held alongside the event. This booth will showcase Saudi Arabia's advancements in digital auditing through the 'Shamel Platform' and its initiatives in professional capacity building.
In addition to its role as Second Vice-Chair, GCA holds leadership positions within INTOSAI, including Chairmanship of the Policies, Finance and Administration Committee (PFAC), Chairing INTOSAI's side in the Steering Committee for Cooperation with the Donor Community, and membership in the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) Board of Directors.
INTOSAI is recognized as the world's largest professional accounting institution in terms of country membership and acts as the umbrella organization for Supreme Audit Institutions globally. It supports its members in enhancing professional performance through auditing standards, performance audits, capacity-building programs, knowledge sharing, and other initiatives.
