Saudi arabia: Saudi Arabia secured a seat on the board of directors of the Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO Asia) after President of the Saudi Kickboxing Federation Ahmed AlTowayan was elected for a four-year term. The elections took place during the confederation's General Assembly meeting, held virtually under the chairmanship of WAKO Asia President Nasser Nassiri and attended by representatives of Asian national federations. According to Saudi Press Agency, the milestone reflects the advanced standing Saudi sports have attained at continental and international levels, as well as growing confidence in national talents capable of contributing to the development of combat sports in Asia. AlTowayan expressed pride in Saudi Arabia securing the seat, saying it strengthens the Kingdom's distinguished presence in kickboxing at the international level. 'This victory in securing this leadership seat in the Asian confederation reflects the confidence Saudi Arabia enjoys today on the Asian and global sports st age,' he said. AlTowayan added that the achievement is an extension of the strong support the sports sector receives from the Kingdom's leadership, as well as the directives and continued follow-up of Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal. He also affirmed commitment to sharing Saudi Arabia's successful experience and exchanging expertise in a manner that contributes to developing kickboxing, empowering Asian federations, and meeting the aspirations of athletes across the continent.
