Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the targeting of vital facilities and infrastructure in Port Sudan and Kassala, Sudan. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that these actions pose a threat to regional stability and the national security of both Arab and African nations. The Ministry has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Sudan to alleviate the suffering and destruction faced by the Sudanese people. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reiterated its belief that the resolution of the crisis in Sudan should be achieved through a Sudanese-led political solution. This approach should respect Sudan's sovereignty and unity while supporting the nation's state institutions. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need for protection of civilians and urged the implementation of the Jeddah Declaration, which was signed on May 11, 2023, committing to the protection of civilians in Sudan.
