Riyadh: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's strong condemnation and denunciation of the targeting of a site on the grounds of Khartoum Airport.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry emphasized the Kingdom's firm stance on preserving Sudan's unity, legitimate institutions, and the resources, security, and stability of its people. It highlighted the importance of keeping civilian objects and vital facilities out of the ongoing conflict.
The Kingdom urged all involved parties to de-escalate, immediately cease these violations, and adhere to the commitments made in the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11, 2023. This includes the protection of civilians and civilian objects, along with compliance with international humanitarian law.
Additionally, Saudi Arabia called on Sudan's neighboring countries to respect its sovereignty and independence, emphasizing the necessity to prevent their territories from being used as launch points for attacks.
