Saudi Arabia Calls for Heightened Focus on Human Rights in Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories

Geneva: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia emphasized the need to intensify attention to the human-rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories amid the unfolding events there.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this statement was made during the speech of Saudi Human Rights Commission (HRC) President and head of the Kingdom's delegation, Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, at the high-level segment of the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva.

Dr. Al-Tuwaijri affirmed the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening its close cooperation with UN human-rights mechanisms. She stressed the importance of respecting diverse values and avoiding the imposition of selective, unilateral values on societies.

Furthermore, she highlighted the need to recognize cultural and civilizational diversity and leverage it to protect and promote human rights.
