Saudi Ambassador to France Elected President of OIML Conference


Paris: The conference of the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) began yesterday in Paris. During the opening session, representatives from member states voted to elect the conference president and vice presidents. The conference resulted in the election of Saudi Ambassador to France Fahd bin Mayouf Al-Ruwaili as the conference president.



According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Ruwaili also participated in the preparatory meeting with the Saudi delegation within the organization’s legal committee. Experts from the organization praised the high standards and norms in the Kingdom, highlighting the progress and development of its regulations, which incorporate the latest technical specifications and contribute to economic progress and sustainable development.



The conference adopted several important decisions aimed at enhancing international cooperation in the fields of standards and metrology, as well as advancing the digital transformation plan. Additionally, it approved the organization’s draft budget for the upcoming fiscal year and reviewed its financial report for the previous period.
