Madinah: Madinah's food preservation society has established a highly efficient model for managing surplus food during Ramadan, successfully collecting 99,622 iftar meals from the Prophet's Mosque between the 1st and 17th of the holy month.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative operates with a dedicated fleet of eight specialized vehicles and 960 volunteers, who have collectively logged 4,800 volunteer hours to ensure the rapid and safe collection and redistribution of food.
The estimated value of the preserved meals during this period reached SAR896,598, highlighting the initiative's significant impact on reducing food waste and fostering community solidarity in Madinah.
