Riyadh: The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) announced in a press release today the readiness of the national payment system ‘mada’ to allow cardholders of JCB International (JCBI) to conduct digital payments through point-of-sale (POS) devices and cash withdrawals via ATMs. The initiative aims to enhance the experience of JCB cardholders visiting the Kingdom by facilitating digital payments through local participating banks and licensed Payment Service Providers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this initiative reflects the bank’s ongoing efforts to develop a robust digital payments infrastructure. It aims to provide a variety of digital payment services to meet the needs of visitors to the Kingdom by expanding the scope of acceptance of global payment networks. Innovative and advanced digital payment solutions are part of Saudi Vision 2030 objectives for realizing a less cash-dependent society.
