Tabuk: Roads General Authority (RGA) acting Chief Executive Eng. Badr Al Dulami inspected the Halat Ammar crossing in Tabuk to ensure the readiness and quality of services provided to the Holy Sites' visitors. The inspection tour is part of the RGA's broader efforts to guarantee the safety and comfort of pilgrims traveling on the road during the Hajj.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Tabuk road network, a key entry point for pilgrims arriving from Jordan and neighboring countries, is designed to enhance their convenience and security. Spanning 470 kilometers from the Halat Ammar crossing to the administrative boundaries of the Madinah region, the network serves both Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

The RGA reiterated its commitment to providing advanced infrastructure and enhancing road quality and safety to streamline the pilgrims' journey. It said it is pressing ahead with efforts to meet the highest standards of safety and comfort, aligning with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 for developing services provided to pilgrims.

The authority is ramping up field monitoring to ensure road readiness before the upcoming Hajj season, prioritizing improving the traveler experience, and it confirmed the mobilization of all its resources-including the world's largest road survey and evaluation fleet-to ensure optimal conditions for pilgrims.

Equipped with cutting-edge technological tools and artificial intelligence, the fleet conducts comprehensive assessments of road damage, skid resistance, deflection, thickness, and roughness, along with drone technology and floor paint quality measurement. These technologies enable accurate assessments with reduced effort and time.

The RGA said such efforts have contributed to raising the road infrastructure quality ranking, placing the Kingdom fourth among Group of Twenty (G20) countries and first globally in road connectivity.
