Roads Authority: Ongoing Projects Boost Economic, Tourism, and Social Development in Al-Baha

The road network in Al-Baha has played a pivotal role in supporting the region's economic, tourism, and social growth. The extensive road infrastructure connects the region's governorates and links Al-Baha with neighboring areas, consistent with the broader strategy of strengthening Saudi Arabia's position as a global logistics hub and enhancing the quality of life through safe and reliable roads. The Roads General Authority has undertaken several new projects in Al-Baha, including the construction of a 22-kilometer road connecting Baljurashi and Al-Aqiq, at a cost of SAR219 million. It has completed 34 kilometers of agricultural roads, costing SAR39 million. Two other ongoing projects are also progressing: the duplication of Al-Makhwah-Al-Majardah road, which is currently at 65% completion, and the construction of a 23-kilometer road connecting Al-Qura and Al-Aqiq, which is 56% complete. These projects aim to improve road safety, meet growing traffic, and contribute to sustainable development. The author ity is committed to implementing vital projects and initiatives to achieve the objectives of the Roads Sector Strategy, including reducing road deaths to less than five cases per 100,000 people, implementing traffic safety factors according to IRAP standards, and maintaining advanced service levels for the road network.
