Riyadh: The General Department of Medical Services at the Ministry of Interior achieved a new medical milestone by performing the first kidney transplant at Security Forces Hospital in Riyadh, as part of the hospital's organ transplant program. The successful operation was performed on a 32-year-old patient suffering from kidney failure, who received a kidney donated by his 35-year-old sister after completing thorough medical examinations confirming compatibility. The procedure was carried out by a multidisciplinary medical and surgical team, and both the donor and recipient are in stable condition, receiving necessary medical care. According to Saudi Press Agency, the launch of the kidney transplant program reflects the department's efforts to advance specialized medicine and enhance healthcare quality, affirming the hospital's position as a medical reference center capable of performing complex operations according to international best practices.
