According to Saudi Press Agency, the commission is showcasing a range of digital activations and interactive experiences that highlight the use of modern technologies for documenting and preserving heritage assets and their data, while presenting heritage content to visitors through interactive digital formats.
It highlights an interactive experience that demonstrates the process of digitally documenting heritage assets, taking visitors through the transition from a physical heritage asset to a three-dimensional digital model. The experience allows visitors to explore architectural details through a 360-degree view and learn how heritage sites are recorded and how data is converted into digital assets that support research, documentation, and preservation.
The commission is also presenting an interactive hologram experience showcasing heritage technologies used in documentation and surveying. These include three-dimensional laser scanning, unmanned aerial vehicles, remotely operated underwater vehicles, multibeam survey and depth-measurement systems, geographic information systems, satellite imagery and remote sensing. These technologies help collect data, produce digital models, support the study of sites and the monitoring of their condition, and manage heritage assets.
Artificial intelligence serves as a storyteller in an interactive experience showcased by the commission, allowing visitors to ask questions about the history, cultural significance, and architectural features of a heritage site. They receive audio responses in Arabic and English, providing site-related information through a direct digital experience.
The commission's participation in LEAP 2026 reflects its efforts to harness technological solutions for heritage documentation, preservation, and asset management, while developing ways to present cultural heritage content.
The participation allows visitors to explore the practices and technologies used to study and preserve heritage, while strengthening the presence of cultural heritage in digital and interactive environments.
