Riyadh International Book Fair 2024 Workshops, Discussions Move to Open Spaces

General

The Riyadh International Book Fair 2024 introduced a new format for its workshops and discussion sessions, moving them from closed rooms to open spaces between the pavilions of publishing houses, aiming to attract more visitors and foster direct interaction between attendees and authors. Organized by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, the exhibition made attendance more accessible by removing the requirement for early registration to participate in the workshops and sessions. Visitors can now freely attend these sessions, which still maintain a degree of privacy despite being held in open areas. The workshop topics align with the objectives of the National Strategy for Culture, focusing on promoting cultural diversity and richness. The Riyadh International Book Fair has become a prominent platform for fostering cultural and intellectual relationships and encouraging a culture of reading within society. The event, which runs until October 5, features participation from over 2,000 publis hing houses representing more than 30 countries and contributions from Saudi, Arab, and international cultural organizations. The exhibition is open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight, except on Fridays when it opens at 2 p.m. Source: Saudi Press Agency
