Riyadh: Riyadh hosted on Monday the second meeting of the Saudi-USA Biotech Alliance, organized by the Ministry of Investment in collaboration with the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA) and King Abdullah International Medical Research Center, and in partnership with Invest Saudi. The meeting builds on the summit held last month in San Francisco, United States, as part of efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership in biotechnology.

According to Saudi Press Agency, CEO of the Saudi Investment Promotion Authority Khaled Alkhattaf emphasized the Saudi-US partnership as a cornerstone for advancing biotechnology, accelerating knowledge transfer and innovation, and supporting the development of the healthcare ecosystem. CEO of the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA) and President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences Bandar Al Knawy said the alliance serves as a practical platform to outline cooperation plans and set priorities for leveraging the latest immunotherapies and tumor-monitoring diagnostics.

Bandar Al Knawy noted that the meeting, which engaged leaders from healthcare and research institutions from both sides, was not limited to an academic framework but rather focused on developing future-oriented healthcare programs in immunomodulatory therapies and cancer vaccines, in alignment with the objectives of the National Biotechnology Strategy. Meanwhile, CEO of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre Majid Alfayyadh highlighted that the alliance marks a fundamental shift toward advancing precision medicine and personalized therapies by harnessing cutting-edge biotechnology to develop more targeted, efficient, and effective treatment solutions.

The meeting featured a specialized scientific program addressing the latest advancements in cancer therapies, biopharmaceutical development, advanced diagnostic technologies, and updates on clinical trials. Gathering a distinguished group of physicians, researchers, and healthcare leaders, the event provided an active platform for exchanging expertise and exploring research and applied collaboration opportunities.
